Abstract

Background. The sociological legacy of Russian post-October expatriates is an integral part of the Russian sociological history. The topic of the revolution and sociological understanding revolutionary events is of special interest. The subject of the article is the revolution sociology of Russian expatriate thinkers. The aim of the article is to reveal main approaches and methodological purposes of Russian thinkers-emigrants to solve the revolution problems.
Materials and methods. Realization of the research tasks was achieved on the basis of using works by Russian sociologists of a non-Marxist profile, researches by Soviet and Russian scientists devoted to the given topic. The methodological potential included the comparative historical method, application of which allows to show the originality of historical and sociological views of Russian thinkers on the revolution problems.
Results. The article discloses theoretical sources of the revolution sociology, interprets its content, shows various approaches and levels of the philosophical and sociological interpretation of the revolution problem by P. Struve, N. Berdyaev, I. Ilyin, S. Frank. It is emphasized that in the religious reflection of the revolution in the emigrant period there is a trend from Thermidor substantiation to religious justification of the revolution.
Conclusions. On the basis of the analysis of historical and sociological sources the article concludes the given subjective profile of the national historical and sociological process allows to expand a general theoretical view of the revolution through inclusion therein of such aspects that determined the vision of revolution not just as a political and social phenomenon, but as a religious and metaphysical event.
